2011... where it all started...

It was a call that I would never forget and one that would send me on a journey that I didn't know God was preparing me for.  "I have this idea," my partner, best friend and confidant Indra said to me slowly and deliberately.  I rushed right to her home and found an entire presentation about a program that would surely turn the idea of mentoring on its head.

"Its called Princess, Inc. and this is what I want to do and I want to know would you help me?"  And just like that, our baby was born.  We gathered women who we knew- friends, associates, thinkers and those who had an undeniable spirit for giving.  With just an idea, some passion and a whole lot of life experiences, we embarked on one of the best journeys of our lives.  Now in our sixth year, Princess, Inc. is doing phenomenal!  We have served over 85 girls, given out over $5,000 in scholarships and continue to raise the bar for mentoring, civic & community service and the idea of "pay it forward."  Each day we rise, its a day to think longer and harder to make sure our daughter Princess is well taken care of.

As she grows and blossoms into the vehicle for community change we are excited to see, we are appreciative of the support we have received- love, kind words, prayers and well wishes that let us know this work isn't in vain.  They go far and continue to help us and the program Ambassadors work at a standard of excellence so that we can continue to give our Princesses the best! As we raise Princess, and shape her into her best self, her cup continues to runneth over!

Will A Woman Ever Be Our POTUS???

This past presidential election has shown us many things...we've made some strides with the 44th POTUS being a brother from Chi-Town--but political analysts predicted that Hillary never had a chance at winning the election and that it had nothing to do with her pompous opponent...what is clear is that even in the 21st century Women's Suffrage and Equal Rights Issues are still very relevant....like the old song prophesied..."it's a man's world" or is it???
